Authorities later revealed the case involved an attempted murder, with the suspect using a fabricated robbery story to mask the attack.

“The robbery account didn’t add up. It was simply an alibi to obscure the real crime,” stated Commissioner Robby Saputra, head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, during a press conference held on June 19, 2026.

The Staged Robbery Report

A woman named T a.k.a. U, 31, initially filed a complaint with the Menteng Police on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at approximately 16:00. She alleged two strangers had entered the victim’s home through the roof, leading to a confrontation. According to her, the assailants argued with the victim before she intervened with a taser.

Investigation Reveals Discrepancies

Upon reviewing the case, police identified contradictions in T’s narrative. Witnesses contradicted her claims, asserting no two people had entered the house. Robby Saputra clarified that the assault was carried out by T herself. Additionally, a one-hour gap existed between the reported robbery and the formal police filing, during which the victim remained silent and unresponsive.

“During that interval, the victim didn’t contact anyone, didn’t call for help, and didn’t seek medical assistance,” Robby noted.

Details of the Assault

During the attack, the victim, MHA, 30, was engaged in a virtual reality game. T prepared tools for the assault, including a portable power supply connected to a wet cloth and cable. She instructed the victim to hold the cloth, delivering an electric shock that lasted six to eight seconds. After the victim collapsed, T used a pan to strike his head and back. Despite remaining conscious, he tried to flee while shouting.

Following the escape attempt, T pursued him with a stun gun and a hammer, forcing him to lie on a bed. She then administered nitrogen gas through a tube for ten minutes. When the victim failed to lose consciousness, she struck him again with the tube and later used a kitchen knife to inflict wounds on his head, back, and neck.

Severe Injuries and Physical Evidence

The victim sustained head lacerations, bruises on his back, lip cuts, and a chin injury. He also lost several teeth and had a chest wound. Police noted ligature marks on his neck and additional lacerations on his shoulders and waist. The attack involved multiple forms of harm: electric shocks, blunt force, and stabbing.

Investigations suggest T harbored long-standing resentment toward MHA. The pair were business partners in the information technology sector, with T serving as the CEO. The motive remains under scrutiny, as seven witnesses have been questioned to establish the relationship and sequence of events.
