Indonesia’s Cabinet Secretary Convenes Meeting on Drug Prevention Strategies

Indonesia s BNN Warns Vape Devices – On June 20, 2026, Indonesia’s Cabinet Secretary, Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya, hosted a meeting with BNN Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto at the Cabinet Secretariat Building in Jakarta. The session focused on collaborative measures to combat drug abuse and trafficking, particularly in densely populated urban centers.

BNN Highlights Vaping as a Gateway to Drug Use

During the discussion, Suyudi emphasized the growing concern over vape devices as tools for illicit drug consumption. He stated,

“Electronic cigarettes and vaping products pose a significant risk, as they can serve as a vehicle for harmful substances. Public education, especially among youth, is vital to mitigating this threat.”

The meeting was shared on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account, @sekretariat.kabinet, where Suyudi also outlined recent accomplishments by the BNN. The post noted,

“Notable successes include dismantling drug trafficking networks and confiscating narcotics before they reached the public.”

Officials reiterated plans to enhance inter-agency cooperation and expand awareness campaigns. These initiatives aim to shield young Indonesians from drug addiction while advancing the nation’s goal of becoming free from narcotics. The strategy aligns with broader efforts to address rising youth vaping rates and related health risks.

Government Aims to Strengthen Anti-Drug Measures

Authorities stressed that ongoing coordination between agencies will be critical in preventing drug proliferation. By prioritizing education and targeting high-risk areas, the government hopes to create a sustainable impact on public health and reduce drug dependency among the younger population.
