450 000 Barrels of Crude Oil – On June 24, 2026, the Gamkonora oil tanker reached Cilacap, Central Java, carrying 450,000 barrels of crude oil sourced from the Menzel Lejmat (MLN) Block 405a in Algeria. This delivery marks the second such shipment this year, following an initial arrival of 1 million barrels in January. The vessel departed Port Arzew, Algeria, on May 14, 2026, and completed its journey after 41 days at sea.

“This shipment strengthens Pertamina’s position as an internationally competitive oil and gas company, while fulfilling the mandate to support national energy resilience through superior and sustainable operations,” said Syamsu Yudha, President Director of PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP), in a written statement dated June 26, 2026.

The Block 405a oil and gas field in Algeria is managed by Pertamina’s subsidiary, PIEP, under a 25-year contract extension with Sonatrach, the Algerian national oil company. Syamsu highlighted that the operation reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining stable energy supplies for Indonesia.

PIEP’s Relations Manager, Dhaneswari Retnowardhani, emphasized that the oil shipment aims to maximize the benefits of overseas assets for Indonesia’s energy sector. She stated, “In line with this, PIEP is optimizing the economic value of global production through leveraging international market opportunities and managing value-added portfolios.”

Plans are in place for a third shipment, scheduled to depart in August 2026 and arrive in September. This continuation underscores Pertamina’s ongoing efforts to secure reliable energy sources while aligning with national strategic goals.
