BMKG Forecasts Jakarta’s Weather: Cloudy Mornings, Possible Afternoon Rain

BMKG Predicts Jakarta Will Be Cloudy – Jakarta – According to Tempo.CO, the Indonesian Meteorological Agency (BMKG) has issued a forecast for Monday, June 22, 2026, predicting that the capital city will experience clear and partly cloudy skies during the early hours. However, the weather is expected to shift toward rain in the late afternoon and evening, particularly in certain districts, as reported by Antara on Sunday.

Morning Conditions

The morning outlook for Jakarta remains largely sunny, with scattered clouds. Central Jakarta is projected to maintain clear skies from dawn until midday, while West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands will see intermittent cloud cover. The air temperature is anticipated to stay within a comfortable range of 24-27°C during this time.

Afternoon and Evening Outlook

As the day progresses, the weather in most parts of DKI Jakarta is expected to stay mild, with partly cloudy to hazy skies. Temperatures will increase, reaching 29-31°C by the afternoon. However, the risk of precipitation rises in specific areas. South Jakarta may encounter thunderstorms, while East Jakarta could face moderate rainfall. West Jakarta is likely to see light rain, according to BMKG.

By evening, the overall conditions across Jakarta are projected to improve, with a trend toward partly cloudy weather. Nevertheless, light rain may linger in East Jakarta during the early evening before gradually diminishing.

As quoted by Antara, the BMKG has highlighted that certain regions in Jakarta, including South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and West Jakarta, are at risk of afternoon rainfall.

The agency advises residents, especially those in the mentioned areas, to stay alert for potential rain during the afternoon. This guidance is crucial for individuals planning outdoor activities or travel in the region.
