Japan Envisions Expanding International Backing for Palestinian Statehood
Kabarsaji.com – Tokyo’s top diplomat expressed optimism that worldwide enthusiasm for establishing a Palestinian state alongside Israel will strengthen over time. Toshimitsu Motegi, serving as Japan’s Foreign Minister, delivered these comments during a leadership role at a ministerial gathering focused on Palestinian development within the Conference on East Asian Cooperation for Palestine Development (CEAPAD).
Meeting in Manila Highlights Regional Commitment
The ministerial session took place on Wednesday, July 22, in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. According to Japanese public broadcaster NHK, which referenced ANTARA as its source, Motegi stressed that ensuring Palestine’s viability remains crucial for achieving the two-state framework.
“Viability of Palestine is essential to realize a two-state solution,” Motegi stated.
Building Capacity Through Long-Term Development
Since its creation in 2013, CEAPAD has functioned as a platform for discussing assistance directed toward Palestine. This particular gathering brought together delegates from the Palestinian Authority alongside participants representing multiple East Asian nations.
Motegi outlined how the organization can aid Palestinian state-building initiatives through sustained human resource development spanning medium and long timeframes. He identified capacity enhancement across several sectors as central priorities for collaborative efforts, specifically mentioning health services, educational systems, agricultural practices, and tourism industries.
Trilateral Partnerships Strengthen Support
The Foreign Minister additionally highlighted the significance of trilateral cooperation, describing it as collaborative work among partner nations that leverages each country’s unique strengths to benefit Palestine. This approach allows diverse contributors to pool resources and expertise according to their individual capabilities.
