Student Group Calls for Justice in Febrie Adriansyah Investigation

Kabarsaji.com – The Attorney General’s Office faces mounting public pressure following the revelation that former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah has been designated as a suspect in the PT Asabri corruption scandal. After police investigators initially named him, the matter was subsequently handed over to the Attorney General’s Office for further processing.

Protest Demands Transparency and Fairness

On Tuesday, July 21, the Central Executive Board of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (DPP IMM) organized a demonstration at the main entrance of the Attorney General’s Office. Dozens of students gathered to voice their concerns regarding the handling of the case and to call for greater openness in the investigative process.

M. Zaki Mubarak, serving as Secretary General of DPP IMM, presented six key demands during the event. He emphasized that restoring faith in Indonesia’s anti-corruption machinery requires more than mere words—it demands consistent action, transparency, and impartiality in law enforcement.

“There should be no room for impunity,” Zaki declared during his address to the assembled crowd.

Key Demands Outlined

The student organization articulated their position through the following points:

First, they called for law enforcement agencies to conduct an open, professional, and comprehensive investigation into Febrie Adriansyah’s case, ensuring compliance with existing legal frameworks.

Second, the group stressed that any legal actions—including suspect designation and detention—must only proceed once all statutory requirements and adequate evidentiary support are established, without any form of discrimination.

Third, they demanded the elimination of all protective measures, interventions, or strategic maneuvers that might hinder, sway, or weaken the judicial proceedings.

Fourth, the Attorney General’s Office was urged to prove its institutional independence by prioritizing the rule of law over internal solidarity, loyalty bonds, or political considerations.

Fifth, the principle of equal treatment under the law must remain steadfast, ensuring that public servants, law enforcement officers, and political figures receive no preferential treatment.

Sixth, all legal processes should operate with full transparency and accountability, making information readily available to citizens while conducting anti-corruption work irrespective of hierarchical position, personal connections, or political alignment.

During his speech, Zaki also extended an invitation to regional and branch leaders of the Muhammadiyah Student Association throughout Indonesia to organize constitutional demonstrations at provincial and district prosecutor offices. These local actions would contribute to monitoring law enforcement activities and bolstering anti-corruption efforts nationwide.

To maintain investigative objectivity, the Attorney General’s Office has formed a dedicated team comprising nine senior prosecutors tasked with managing the Febrie Adriansyah case.
