Criteria Update and Calculation Method

The 51 HSC stocks emerged from the inclusion of 37 new entries, combined with the 14 previously identified. This expansion followed the introduction of the Price Impact Ratio, a metric used to identify stocks with market capitalization exceeding Rp10 trillion that demonstrate heightened influence in the market.

“The Price Impact Ratio measures the relationship between stock price fluctuations and trading activity velocity, where velocity is derived from average transaction volume relative to total publicly available shares,” explained Jeffrey.

Quarterly Monitoring Process

The IDX plans to assess these stocks on a quarterly basis, aligning with its standard index review schedule. “We will perform ongoing checks to detect potential instances of concentrated ownership, while maintaining existing monitoring protocols,” added Jeffrey.

High shareholding concentration occurs when a company’s shares are predominantly held by a limited number of individuals or entities, resulting in minimal freely available shares for public trading. This dynamic can limit liquidity and increase market sensitivity to price changes. Read more about IDX’s HSC list updates on Tempo’s Google News platform.
